6012017: Stash Busting Thursday

Need to use that huge stash you have?

1st & 3rd Thursdays each month we will have a class available for you.

At the beginning of each month I will show the first week project for the month and after the first class, I will show project for the third week.  ou will pay for the pattern and bring your stash to class.  You may share among the class if that works for y'all too.  I'll help you get started on busting that stash for each project.

Project pics will be posted here and also show up in Facebook and in the Newsletter.

July 20 project - Chicken Pincushion

If you want to make chicken with a log cabin block you will need a handful of at least 1 1/2" wide strips in a variety of prints.  When finished you will have 2 - 4" blocks
1 - 2" x 2" light fabric for tail
1 - 3" x 3" dark fabric for tail
2 - black embroidery floss or bead / button for the eyes
* you can use a piece of fabric 1 1/4" x 1 14", or felt for the beak
* you can use a piece of felt, or yarn snips for the comb
* you can use yarn snips to lay on top your tail fabric if you wish
* if you want to go the feathers route that is good too, or maybe a boa cut up
this is endless on the look you want your crazy chicken to have - get creative!
Rice (1 cup) and Stuffing (polyfil - handful) for the body - you may use ground walnut shells, silica sand your choice
