This is a Studio 180 Design Retreat.
Come learn and quilt with Cyn. Quilting space is available 24 hours a day with lots of time for uninterrupted sewing time with your friends or make new ones.
Retreat Check in is Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 3pm Retreat Check out is Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 11am
My Retreat Includes:
- 4+ Days of sewing, 24 hours a day!
- 4 Continental Breakfasts (Thursday - Sunday)
- 3 Lunches (Thursday – Saturday)
- Dinners will be on your own with many great places in Galveston
- Snacks will be available throughout the day. Coffee, tea, and water provided. Bring your own preferred drinks.
- Retreat Gift
- Studio 180 Design class teaching 3 - 1/2 days, open sew in evenings. You can continue to work on retreat project or your own for open sew times.
- I will bring a small shop of supplies in case you forgot something or just need something for purchase.
- Individual Sewing Stations with comfy chairs/ lights.
Studio 180 Design project - Island Breeze will be taught. Pattern and Kits will be available starting first of January. Choose your own fabrics is optional, but must purchase pattern from Quilters Cottage.Note: there will be a $50 cancellation fee
Staying at the retreat center is not included in the retreat fee. This will be paid at a rate of $90 a night x 4 to Pelican View upon arrival. 3 Twin beds downstairs and 3 Twin beds upstairs will be available to retreaters (full bath on each floor)
Supplies: Wedge Star Tool w/ Invisigrip - bring instruction sheet Tucker Trimmer III w/ Invisigrip - bring instruction sheet Tucker Trimmer I w/ Invisigrip - bring instruction sheet (optional) Magic Wand Machine in good working condition /1/4" foot / foot petal & power cord / user manual clean and change needle flower head pins / pincushion neutral thread / wind a couple of bobbins small cutting mat at your station / rotary cutter / long ruler (24" x 8 1/2") I also recommend a 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" square and a 1 1/2" x 12" ruler small ironing mat and iron at your station - starch if needed pressing stick if you use clapper if you use small thread snips chain piecing cutter if you use marking tools - frixion pen and micron pen (possible white lead sewline pencil) extra machine needles, rotary blades and thread if you might need Invisigrip and Glow tape Nest to corral tools if you use 3-12” design boards would be helpful if you have. (To make cut a 12” foam board and spray 505, cover with batting, trim to fit)
Precutting Instructions: Follow cutting instructions on page 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 for the THROW size (mark with arrows / glow tape so you do not miscut)

Use the paper plate method or ziploc bags for labeling your cuts. If you are not comfortable with subcutting, then at least cut the strips. We will not be working on sewing this project until Thursday am so you will have Wednesday evening to cut some if needed. Just keep in mind there is only one large cutting station.
