As a result of planning your original design, you are now ready to begin construction the units. We will review the construction process as well as have sewing time for making units using the Tucker Trimmer, V-Block and Wing Clipper. Depending upon your layout and design choices, you may be able to complete your focal block during this course. A focal block consists of units that create a center 12" finished block that is surrounded by a framework made up of additional units.
You will begin to make the required units for your own quilt top design.
Bring your Planning Sheet from class 1 Any 12" finished blocks you may be wanting to use in your project / units made you may want to use for sew day that you previously made in past classes.
Basic Sewing Supplies: Sewing Machine in good working condition, bring power cords and manual Thread neutral Machine needles - replace with a new one prior to class Snips or trimming scissors Seam ripper
Basic Quilting Supplies: Rotary cutter with a sharp blade Marking Pencil - I recommend the Sewline mechanical pencil or the micron pigma marker size .01 Small cutting mat Straight edge ruler approx. 6" x 12" - I really recommend the 8 1/2" x 24 as you will be cutting WOF Invisigrip on back of all your tools Best Press or light starch All Studio 180 Tools and Magic Wand All Design and Technique sheets from Freshman Year and Sophomore Year
Fabric Requirements: this will come from your planning sheet - bring all fabric to all sewing sessions
